Abstract

A nitrogen and phosphorus ligand-free catalytic system derived from inexpensive [(diglyme)NiBr2] allowed for efficient direct C[BOND]H bond alkylations of heteroarenes with unactivated β-hydrogen-containing alkyl halides under basic reaction conditions.
