| Abstract | A conceptually new one-step reaction affording unexpected aryl olefinic product from aromatic aldehyde, aliphatic aldehyde and malononitrile in the presence of acetic acid-ammonium acetate under mild reaction conditions without using any metal catalyst is reported.
