AbstractArsenic is a metalloid which poses a risk on water quality, a severe health problem for human and serious impact on environment. Occurrence of arsenic in natural environment may be due to natural processes or due to anthropogenic activities. Removal of arsenic can be done by many different techniques like adsorption, precipitation, flotation, ion exchange etc. Among them adsorption is widely used for removal of heavy metals from water due to its simplicity; also it’s cost effective. The aim of the study is to evaluate the potential of nanoadsorbent for arsenic removal. A number of potent adsorbent have been developed from metal, carbon and oxide based nanoparticle for enhancing the adsorption capacity and removal capacity of arsenic from aqueous solution. A short overview of nanoadsorbent for arsenic removal from aqueous solution has been discussed in this review article.
