| Abstract | An efficient total synthesis of decarestrictine D has been achieved using cross-metathesis or ring-closing metathesis and Yamaguchi macrolactonization as key steps. The stereogenic centres were generated by means of hydrolytic kinetic resolution (HKR) and Sharpless asymmetric dihydroxylation (AD). |
