Abstract | Copper(II) triflate or Et3N have been found to catalyze, under ambient conditions, the addition of a cyanide anion, such as trimethylsilyl cyanide or acetone cyanohydrin, onto in situ generated imines, furnishing alpha-aminonitriles in excellent yields.
