D-glucose, starch, maltose and mannitol were best source for growth and L-asparaginase production by all three thermophilic caprophilous fungi under investigation. Similarly L-asparagine, L-arginine, L-tyrosine and L-histidine were good nitrogen sources for both growth and L-asparaginase production.
