In both the presence and absence of limited 02, ethane conversion increases markedly because of the presence Of CO2, indicating its beneficial effect on the ethane to ethylene cracking. The increased ethane conversion is, however, not due to the oxidation of ethane to ethylene by CO2; the formation of carbon monoxide in the presence Of CO2 is found to be very small. It is most probably due to the activation of ethane in the presence Of CO2.</p>
<issue></issue><work-type></work-type><custom3></custom3><custom4></custom4></record><record><source-app name="Biblio" version="7.x">Drupal-Biblio</source-app><ref-type>17</ref-type><contributors><authors>

</authors></contributors><titles>

<secondary-title></secondary-title></titles><dates><year></year><pub-dates><date></date></pub-dates></dates><number></number><publisher></publisher><pub-location></pub-location><volume></volume><pages></pages>
<p>A novel and efficient protocol has been developed for the synthesis of azaarene-substituted 3-hydroxy-2-oxindoles via sp(3) C-H functionalization of 2-methyl azaarenes and (2-azaaryl)methanes with isatin in good to excellent yield.
